After decades of working alongside architects in document management services, CENTERLINE’s founder, Chuck Perret, saw firsthand the relentless administrative burden architects faced—drowning in emails, manually tracking RFIs and submittals, struggling with inefficient methods to create field reports and punch lists, and operating with little transparency to mitigate risk. He knew there had to be a better way.
When 2020 brought the world to a standstill, Chuck rallied a team and seized the opportunity to find a solution. Thousands of hours of research and conversations with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors made one thing clear: project administration is where most architects go over budget, and the problem was getting worse as contractors were getting increasingly sophisticated software tools. A shift was happening in the Design and Build industry, and architects were getting blamed for anything that went wrong on a construction project.
